3-days cultural festival begins at Bani

KATHUA, June 25:  In connection with three days Ching Mela at Mela Ground Bani, a colorful music and dance programme was organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) Sub Office Kathua in-collaboration with Pahari Cultural Forum Bani.

 The programme was organized under the overall guidance of Secretary JKAACL Bharat Singh (JKAS).

Maan Singh DDC Kathua was the chief guest on the occasion. Reeta Thakur was guest of honor whereas Satish Sharma SDM Bani was special guest on the occasion.

While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Maan Singh said that he was awestruck to see the presentations by every artist and requested the Academy authorities to make this event an annual happening so that the art and culture of Bani can be preserved.

Reeta Thakur also appreciated JKAACL for showcasing the scintillating programme. She said such kind of initiatives always takes the culture to the next level of preservation of arts.

The programme started with the vibrant Dogri dance “Thanda Pani Pinnde Ne Pahari Lok” by Natya Roots Dance Group Jammu. Followed by the presentations from Subash Chander and party ‘Kud dance’ and Yudishter Gupta and party ‘Dogri folk song’.

The programme concluded with the soulful performance of Dogri folk Geetru by Ram Ditta and party.

While presenting vote of thanks Satish Sharma SDM Bani appreciated and lauded the efforts of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Sub Office Kathua.

The program was conducted by Mele Ram (Retd. ZEO).
