GDCW Kathua hosts entrepreneurship awareness lecture

KATHUA, June 7: Government Degree College for Women, Kathua organized an awareness lecture on entrepreneurship in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI).  The event was organized under the patronage of College Principal, Dr. Savi Behl, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.

The awareness lecture aimed to inspire and educate students about the various opportunities and resources available for aspiring entrepreneurs. Distinguished representative from JKEDI, Hari Bhushan, District Coordinator JKEDI Kathua was the resource person on the occasion. He shared valuable insights into the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, including business planning, funding options, and the support infrastructure provided by JKEDI. In his talk, Mr. Bhushan emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in driving economic growth and job creation. The lecture covered essential aspects of starting and managing a business, highlighting the steps involved in transforming innovative ideas into successful enterprises.

Dr. Savi Behl, in her address said “Government Degree College for Women, Kathua, continues to strive towards providing its students with opportunities to learn and grow beyond the conventional curriculum. This awareness lecture is part of a series of initiatives aimed at empowering students with the skills and knowledge necessary for their overall development. This collaboration with JKEDI is a step towards equipping our students with the knowledge and skills required to venture into the business world with confidence.”

The interactive session also included a Q&A segment, where students got the opportunity to seek clarifications and gain deeper understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The participants expressed their appreciation for the insights provided and showed keen interest in exploring entrepreneurship as a viable career option.

Dr. Kamni Kapoor from Department of Physics coordinated the whole event. Dr. Ambica from Department of Chemistry presented the vote of thanks.

The programme was coordinated by Skill Development Committee and Institutional Innovation Council (IIC) members Dr. Babita Mahajan, Prof. Yash Paul, Prof. Romika Bassin, Dr. Ambica, Dr. Manjot Singh, Dr. Kamini Kapoor, Dr. Sayed Naser Ali Shah, Dr. Ajay Sanotra, Dr. Usha Kiran and Dr. Gagan.

The awareness lecture was graced by Dr. Inderjeet Kaur, Prof. Ashwani Khajuria, Dr. Rachna Devi, Dr. Amita Dua, Dr. Renu, Prof. Sachinjeet Singh, Prof. Surbhi Gupta and others.
