Wrestler Rajesh lifts 13th Sarna Dangal title

KATRA, June 19: Wrestler Rajesh of J&K Police lifted “13th Annual Sarna Dangal title  by defeating wrestler Choota Mueer of Domel in the first bout that lasted for 17 minutes at village Sarna (Katra) in tehsil Katra District  Reasi.

The winner of 1st bout Rajesh Sharma was awarded with Rs. 6,000, while runner-up wrestler Choota Muneer got Rs. 5,000.

 The Dangal was organized by Sarna Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the supervision of Som Raj, Ex Naib Sarpanch and Sarpanch Avinash Singh.

 The BJP District President and social activist Rohit Dubey was the chief guest on the occasion.

Ex. President Sat Guru Kabir Sabha Reasi Surinder Kumar  Bhagat, AE PHE, Sandeep Chandan and ASI Fazal Shokar were the guests of honour.

 Sarpanch Jugal  Kishore  (Bablu) Ex. Sarpanch Omkar Singh, Baldev Singh, Ex. Sarpanch, Bishan Dass, Member senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra (Regd.) Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) were present on the occasion.

A total of 56 wrestlers participated in the one day long dangal in which 28 bouts were played and an amount of Rs. 83,000 distributed in the shape of cash prize among the Wrestlers by the chief guest Rohit Dubey  and Shiv Kumar Sharma.

The bouts were officiated by Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Deepak Wazir, Pawan Kumatr Sharma, Samlok Pahalwan, Kishori Lal and Murli Dhar Munna.

The 2nd malli bout was won by Subash by defeating Billa of Jammu and were awarded with Rs. 5,000 and Rs 4,000 respectively. The 3rd bout was won by Jamat Ali of Nagrota by defeating Shamsher Singh of R.S Pura and were awarded with Rs 4,000 and Rs 3000, respectively.

Shiv Kumar Sharma president Senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra (Regd.) honoured two prominent social workers and senior citizens present in the dangal namely Des Raj, age 80 years and Munshi Ram, age 80 years (Both from village Sarna) by presenting them Mata  Ki Chunari.
